Alexa Fluor® 405

  • The best blue fluorochrome available
  • Potentially more intense in fluorescence than other UV light-excitable blue conjugates
  • Excited by Blue Diode, Violet, or Krypton lasers
  • Usually detected in the same fluorescence channel as Cascade Blue
  • Minimal overlap with green fluorophores

Alexa Fluor® 488

  • The finest green fluorophore available
  • Excited by an Argon-Ion laser
  • Usually detected in the same fluorescence channel as FITC
  • Alternative for fluorescein conjugates (FITC, FAM) and Cy2
  • Brighter and more photostable than fluorescein

Alexa Fluor® 647

  • A very high quality red/purple dye
  • Replaces APC (allophycocyanin) or Cy5
  • Excited by Helium-Neon or Krypton-Neon lasers
  • Usually detected in the same fluorescence channel as APC
  • Total fluorescence significantly higher than Cy5 dyes
  • More photostable than DPXL-3, Cy5, and APC conjugates

Alexa Fluor® 700

  • A near infrared dye
  • Excited by xenon-arc lamp, far red diode lasers or dye-pumped lasers (675-700 nm)
  • Usually detected in the same fluorescence channel as APC
  • Brighter than Cy5, Cy5.5, Cy7, and similar dyes
  • More photostable than Cy5 and APC conjugates
