Description
Protein A is a 40-60 kDa MSCRAMM (microbial surface components recognizing adhesive matrix molecules) surface protein originally found in the cell wall of the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus. It is encoded by the spa gene and its regulation is controlled by DNA topology, cellular osmolarity, and a two-component system called ArlS-ArlR.

Protein A binds the Fc region of various mammalian IgG subclasses including:

Human IgG1, IgG2, IgG4
Mouse IgG2a, IgG2b, IgG3
Rat IgG1, IgG2c
Guinea pig IgG1, IgG2
Rabbit IgG
Dog IgGA, IgGB, IgGC, IgGD
Storage
Store at -20oC only.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted.
