Specificity
MCA1218 recognises porcine CD14. Recent studies suggest that two different epitopes of CD14 exist on pig cells and the distribution of these epitopes differ. One epitope is primarily expressed by monocytes and the second epitope is expressed by granulocytes, but is less accessible.

Clone MIL-2 is reported to block the binding of bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) to monocytes (2). Removal of sodium azide is recommended prior to use in functional assays. Serotec recommend the use of EQU003 for this purpose.
Flow Cytometry
Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 106 cells in 100ul. Method sheets are available on request.
