Spleen cells from immunised Balb/c were fused with cells of a myeloma cell line.
Specificity
MCA1987 recognises human CD238, also known as the kell blood group antigen Kpbc. The kell blood group antigens are carried on a 93kD erythrocyte membrane glycoprotein.

In haemaggulation tests, MCA1987 reacts with Kp (a-b+) but not Kp (a+b-). In addition this antibody will agglutinate Kp (a+b-c+) and Kp (a-b-c+) erythrocytes but not react with Ko erythrocytes.
Flow Cytometry
Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 106 cells in 100ul. Method sheets are available on request.

Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.

This product should be stored undiluted.

Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
