Functional Assays
Where this protein has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the protein for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Target Species
Horse
Product Form
Purified recombinant protein - lyophilised
Reconstitution
Reconstitute with 0.5 ml distilled water.
Note
Further dilutions should be made in a buffer containing carrier protein.

Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. Serotec recommend that the vial is gently mixed after reconstitution.

Specificity
Equine interleukin 8 (IL-8) is principally produced by macrophages and is involved in neutrophil chemotaxis.

PEP005 has an ED50 in the range 20-25 ng/ml determined by studies of the induction of equine IL-8 on neutrophil migration in vitro.
Protein Molecular Weight
8.5kD
Purity
>95% by SDS PAGE analysis
