Influenza A & B antibodies

Influenza viruses are identified though the expression of hemagglutinin protein (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) protein antigens on the viral envelope, e.g. influenza A H1N1 strain. Diagnostic tests are especially important during ‘flu outbreaks to determine the presence and serotype of the influenza virus before deciding on the best patient care. Immunodiagnostic tests using antibodies that recognize conserved viral sequences, such as the nucleoprotein, ensure the virus is detected no matter which viral strain is endemic that season.
