Anti-Idiotypic Antibodies from AbD Serotec

Anti-Idotypic

Antibody based drugs represent some of the most widely used therapies in medicine today. Clinical studies into therapeutic humanized antibodies require specialist detection tools which have the ability to differentiate between the drug itself and naturally occurring immunoglobulin, which will always be present in human samples. There is also the added requirement for these detection tools to have high sensitivity to compensate for the low antigenicity of the drug. HuCAL recombinant antibody production supports therapeutic drug development efficiently with highly specific, monoclonal, anti-idiotypic antibodies.

Anti-Rituximab antibodies; three high-performance antibodies available

Rituximab is a well known example of an antibody based drug. This chimeric monoclonal antibody targeting CD20 is traditionally for the treatment of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, but is now considered a therapy for autoimmune disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

AbD Serotec is developing a number of anti-idiotypic antibodies, targeting the most prevalent antibody-based drugs in the market, with an anti-Rituximab antibody being the first released.

AbD Serotec’s anti-Rituximab antibodies, produced using HuCAL technology, are ideally suited for pharmacokinetic and immunogenicity assays. A traditional rat monoclonal antibody is also available, which has been widely cited as an excellent tool for measuring Rituximab in immunoassay.
