C-MYC Antibody Product Summary

Specificity

MCA2200T detects the 62kDa c-myc gene product, which is involved in the regulation of the cell cycle and cell growth. p62c-myc is primarily located to the cell nucleus, but has also been shown to localised to the cytoplasm in several cell lines. Overexpression of c-myc has been reported in a wide variety of human cancers.

This antibody may also be used to detect the commonly used c-myc 'tag'.

Membrane permeabilisation is required for this application. Serotec recommends the use of Leucoperm™ (Product Code BUF09) for this purpose.
Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own systems using appropriate negative/positive controls.

Flow Cytometry

Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 1x106 cells in 100ul.

Immunohistology

This product does not require protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections prior to staining This product does not require antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections.
