In its free form it functions as a cofactor to activated protein C in the degradation of coagulation factors Va and VIIIa. Protein S binds to phosphatidylserine-positive apoptotic cells and may facilitate in the clearance of early apoptotic cells.
This reagent is also available as nephelometric grade whole serum and in bulk quantities. Please enquire for further details.
