Hamster anti Mouse CD121a monoclonal antibody, clone JAMA-147 recognizes murine CD121a, the ~80 kDa type I interleukin-1 receptor. CD121a is a single pass type I membrane glycoprotein, weakly expressed on most cells and tissues including T lymphocytes, thymocytes, epithelial cells and dendritic cells, with stronger expression reported on fibroblasts.

The ligands for CD121a are the interleukin-1 (IL-1) family members; IL-1 alpha; IL-1 beta and IL-1 receptor antagonist. IL-1 is a mediator of inflammation and can elicit a variety of other biological responses through binding to CD121a.

Hamster anti mouse CD121 antibody, clone JAMA-147 has been reported to block IL-1 dependent cellular responses (Rogers et al. 1992).

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.

Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
